On Thursday, Block CEO Jack Dorsey said that the company was laying off 4,000 of its more than 10,000 workers, partly because of AI. The company has developed its own internal AI agent, called Goose, that can be powered by a range of different AI models and plug-in directly to a computer to draw from its files and folders as well as access cloud storage platforms and online databases, Wired reported.

Apple’s new Containerization framework (announced at WWDC 2025) is interesting here. Unlike Docker on Mac, which runs all containers inside a single shared Linux VM, Apple gives each container its own lightweight VM via the Virtualization framework on Apple Silicon. Each container gets its own kernel, its own ext4 filesystem, and its own IP address. It is essentially the microVM model applied to local development, with OCI image compatibility.
